Our Coaches

Coach Matt

Matt is a former Head Coach in the State Basketball League (SBL) in Perth, Australia  and is also long time coach within the highly successful Willetton Tigers program. As a player Matt had a highly successful career in the SBL after playing for the highly regarded Oregon Tech Owls in NAIA II. Matt went on to win SBL MVP in 1999 and regarded as one of the best Australian big men to have ever played in the SBL. Matt has recently been appointed the Head Coach of the Hume City Broncos in the BigV State Champ Men after having great success as the Head Coach of the U18 Men and Youth League Men for the Bulleen Boomers in Victoria, Australia. Matt is the Director of all operations in Victoria and is based in Melbourne.

Coach Ash

Ash is also a former Head Coach in the State Basketball League (SBL). He lead the Kalamunda Eastern Suns to their second only playoff appearance in 2012 and has been a dominant fixture within the senior levels of WABL. As a player Ash played for 5 seasons in the SBL and also played in the NCAA II and NAIA I competitions in the United States. Ash has extensive experience coaching and developing elite talent from pro players, college bound Australians and local elite talent. With a Bachelor of Business majoring in Sports Management and Marketing, Ash has the ability to also work with players on how to market themselves, build profile and manage communications which is an important ingredient for both College and Pro level athletes.  Ash is the Director of all Western Australia operations and is currently based in Perth.

Coach Avi

Avi Meyerson is regarded as one of the best skill development coaches in Australia and has a long history of success working within Impact Basketball. Avi has worked with talent from the NBA, NBL and pros from all over the world as well as local elite talent within Australia. Avi is currently based in Victoria, Australia, where he has  verified himself as one of the premier player development specialists, with the running of Melbourne-based basketball program AM Elite Hoops. Coach Avi has coaching experience at NCAA Division I, II and III levels whilst also coaching in Europe for 2 years.

Coach Nebo

Nebo Franich has been a journeyman of the State Basketball League. Nebo carved out a reputation for being a versatile, hard nosed big man with a high IQ for the game before injury set him back a number of years. Over his career he won a championship with the Lakeside Lightning, was a starter for the Kalamunda Eastern Suns as well as a key player for the Willetton Tigers and Rockingham Flames before retiring in 2016. Nebo has since made a strong transition into coaching leading his Under 16 Perry Lakes Hawks to the playoffs in 2017 and joining Aussie Prospects where he lead a bottom age U21 A Division team to the playoffs at the 2018 Eltham Dandenong Tournament. Nebo is also a highly regarded skills coach and is based in Perth, Western Australia

Coach Blake

Blake is a well known fixture in the coaching circles in Western Australia. With extensive experience coaching in both the SBL, WSBL, State Teams and all levels of WABL, Blake brings a diverse skill set and knowledge to the program. More recently, Blake has been highly invested in coaching elite female athletes from juniors all the way up to professional players in a team setting as well as on a one to one basis. Blake will take up the Head Coach role for the Women's side of the Aussie Prospects program in WA and continue to work with our local elite level women to provide them advanced exposure and development opportunities.  Blake is based in Perth, Western Australia.
